Documented, not decorated

Hips, elbows, eyes, cardiac, and the genetic panels that matter for Standards. Parents are DNA-profiled. We use it to plan pairings, not to write fairy tales. Mother Nature still doesn’t read Punnett squares.
Embark and AKC DNA
Each breeding dog has a DNA profile on this site. Ollie and Dixie’s full packets are up. Luna, Birdy, and Copper’s DNA is on the record. Phenotype OFA still finishing where the dog is under two.
A newer test
Copper toxicosis (ATP7B)
This result shows up on some Embark reports. It is a newer test. The published research is in Labrador Retrievers and Dobermans. On Standard Poodle reports Embark files it under other results — the risk in this breed is currently unclear.
Embark’s own guidance: they do not recommend making breeding decisions based on this result alone, especially outside Labs and Dobermans. We follow that. Pairings at Royal Dixie are planned on OFA, CHIC, and the Standard Poodle disease panel — PRA, NEWS, vWD, DM, GM2, and the rest of the tests we actually breed on. Copper × Birdy stays the plan.
The raw lab line still lives inside the downloadable DNA file. We are not hiding it. We are not using it to pick a mate.
